Oregon passes law limiting working hours to 10 per day for women

The Oregon Bureau of Labor is created in 1903, establishing factory inspection laws, child labor laws, and the 10-hour a day limit for female workers. At the time in Portland, male laundry workers received an average of $2.50 per day and females $1.35.
